Purpose of Plug and Abandonment Services

Plug and abandonment services are used in the oil and gas industry when an oil or gas well has reached the end of its useful life or becomes a dry hole. The well is plugged and abandoned during operations that include tasks that present hazards to workers. The plugging process uses a workover rig and cement pumped into the wellbore and can take a few days or more to complete.
